There are so many photogenic places in Singapore, from stunning skyline views to aesthetic cafes. All of the places on this list make excellent Singapore photoshoot locations for scenery shots or portraits.

Instagram-Worthy Places in Singapore

ArtScience Museum

Located within the Marina Bay Sands Resort, the ArtScience Museum is an awesome blend of science, art, and technology. Future World: Where Art Meets Science is a permanent exhibit at ArtScience Museum.

It presents a fascinating collection of high-tech digital artwork. There are four prominent themes present at Future World: Space, Nature, Town and Park. All of the themes are worth visiting, but it’s the Space theme where you will find the Instagram-worthy Crystal Universe.

More than 170,000 LED lights create the visual of stars traveling through space. The Crystal Universe exhibit at ArtScience Museum is one of the most Instagrammable places in Singapore for good reason.

The setting is incredibly photogenic. Additionally, the in-person experience of being surrounded by tens of thousands of twinkling blue and purple lights is amazing. A path leads visitors to walk through the center of the exhibit and it feels like you have entered another world.

Haji Lane

Haji Lane is a narrow, colorful street tucked away in the Kampong Glam area of Singapore, the city’s Muslim enclave. It’s immediately obvious why Haji Lane is a popular place to stroll aimlessly.

Colorful, charming shophouses line the streets and provide so much character. You can also expect to stumble upon random pieces of beautiful street art along walls of Haji Lane.

In addition, Haji Lane is an awesome place to stroll and browse boutiques, cafes, and bars in the Kampong Glam neighborhood. If you like Middle Eastern cuisine, you will want to explore the streets around Haji Lane and check out the many restaurants in the area.

On the corner of the block before you enter Haji Lane there is a really neat wall mural next to some trees. You can’t really miss it from the sidewalk, but I took advantage of this as a photo spot since it was quiet.

Masjid Sultan Mosque

Just a few blocks over from the picturesque Haji Lane you will find another Instagram-worthy place in Singapore. Masjid Sultan is arguably Singapore’s most popular mosque. Located in the Kampong Glam district, the mosque dates back to 1824 and still serves as a primary place of worship today for both locals and tourists alike.

While I did not go inside of the mosque, the view of the exterior is stunning. There’s a pedestrian lane that leads up to Masjid Sultan and offers the perfect view.

I love the huge gold domes that top Masjid Sultan, along with the colored trim and details. I have not been able to visit many mosques in my life, so this was a unique experience for me and I was stunned by its beauty.

When I visit destinations so rich in history, I often like to take a tour with a local guide. This guided walk through Kampong Glam explores Masjid Sultan, local street art, and much more.

The pedestrian lane leading up to the front of the mosque is the perfect angle for that instagram-worthy shot. Pretty palm trees and characteristic restaurants line the street and add to the overall vibe of the photo. I loved taking shots looking straight down the road at the mosque.

Joo Chiat Road

If you’ve done any research at all on Instagram-worthy places in Singapore then you’ve likely seen photos of the bright and colorful shophouses. This is Joo Chiat Road. Located in the eastern area of Singapore, Joo Chiat Road sits in the Katong Neighborhood.

This is one of Singapore’s most historic areas with a deep-rooted Peranakan culture and story. The shophouses on Joo Chiat Road come in just about every color you can imagine. The ornate facades and floral ceramic tiles are a design dream.

Tourists wander back and forth along the one-block of vibrant homes. Joo Chiat Road is not located in the city center, but visiting this part of the city is worth it. The neighborhood is home to a ton of excellent food choices. I stayed one night in Katong neighborhood during my time in Singapore so that I could thoroughly experience it.

The colorful shophouse line both sides of the street, so there are so many different angles to choose from. If you are solo you might want to have a tripod with you. I often try to find things in the area to set my camera on before I bust out the tripod, but this was an area where my tripod definitely came in handy. Other tourists are generally very kind and willing to take a photo if you ask nicely. They probably want the same in return anyway.

Level-33

Level-33 is a craft-brewery restaurant and bar located in the penthouse of the Marina Bay Financial Center. It is the world’s highest urban craft-brewery offering expansive views over Marina Bay and the Singapore city skyline.

The interior design is beautiful, with natural elements and stunning copper brew house kettles. But the view from the balcony is the Instagrammable sight that cannot be missed.

The scene from outside is what truly makes Level-33 one of Singapore’s best photo spots. Whether you want to snap a selfie or a landscape shot of the city, photos from Level-33 are sure to be Instagram-worthy. It’s hard to complain when you get to enjoy a stellar view along with a beer flight or glass of wine. Level-33 would also be an excellent spot to hang out and catch a sunset.

Since Level-33 is in Marina Bay Financial Center, people start to pour in as the work day is coming to an end. Especially if it’s a weekday, beware that it will start to fill up around 4 p.m. I arrived around 3:30 p.m. and my friend and I were able to grab the last open spot outside.

Sri Mariamman Temple

Sri Mariamman Temple is Singapore’s oldest hindu temple. Sitting in the Chinatown district, this beautiful temple was built in 1827 by immigrants from Southern India. Because of its historical and cultural significance Sri Mariamman Temple has been listed as a national monument. It is extremely popular amongst locals and tourists alike.

Visiting Sri Mariamman Temple was my first time ever experiencing a hindu temple. I was in complete awe over the detail everywhere. The grand tower entrance is so colorful and ornate, I was blown away before I even saw the inside.

When I went inside there was some type of ritual taking place. Because I am quite unfamiliar with Hindu temples in general I am not sure what the event was. But it was a beautiful thing to stand back and experience. I popped in unexpectedly when passing by and ended up staying inside for over an hour.

The temple charges a few dollars for photo passes. I happily paid $3 or so to be able to photograph the inside of the temple. The exterior is incredibly photogenic with the detailed tower out front, but you will also find plenty of photo spots inside.

Helix Bridge

The Helix Bridge is a beautiful, bright, light-filled bridge that connects Marina South with Marina Centre. The bridge is pedestrian-only, so you will find many people walking and jogging across this beauty.

The design of the bridge is quite impressive and it is a special sight to see at night. The spiral formation wraps over the bridge creating a shade effect for people on the bridge during the sunny days.

Once the sun goes down, the Helix Bridge is an even more spectacular sight to see. The lights spiral across the bridge, creating an amazing scene from both inside the bridge or observing from the distance. After dark, this is one of the most Instagram-worthy places in Singapore.

Merlion Park

Merlion Park sits right along the water and is home of Singapore’s famous and iconic half-lion, half-fish mythical creature. I had many questions about this, too.

This is a popular stop for travelers since the mythical Merlion is the country’s national icon. It has the body of the fish and the head of a lion. Why, you ask? Well, let me tell you what I learned.

Apparently the lion part is in honor of the country’s original name of Singapura which translates to “lion city” in Malay. Then there’s the fish body which is supposed to be symbolic of Singapore’s origins as a fishing village. So it all makes sense and it’s pretty neat once you understand the meaning behind it and why it’s so special to the people of Singapore.

Ce La Vi

Ce La Vi is a bar and lounge located on the rooftop level of Marina Bay Sands. It’s hard to think of Singapore without thinking of the immaculate rooftop infinity pool at Marina Bay Sands. The view is arguably one of the most Instagrammable places in Singapore, but it comes at a price.

In order to swim in the dreamy pool at Marina Bay Sands, you have to be a hotel guest. If you want to be a hotel guest, get ready to fork out $450+ (US dollars) per night. When I was planning my trip I was honestly considering paying for just one night at Marina Bay Sands. Like many, I really want to swim and shoot photos at the infinity pool.

The lowest price I ever saw though was $450, which didn’t sit well with me. In the end, I couldn’t justify spending that much money. Especially when I knew the deep-rooted reason was really just to get photos from the infinity pool. I’m really glad I didn’t pay the price to stay there when Ce La Vi offers the same view; and I get to keep my $450.

At Ce La Vie you sit right next to the infinity pool. Although, there is a waist-high plexiglass wall to remind you that you aren’t able to access the pool. For like 30 seconds you might feel slightly envious that you aren’t in the pool. You quickly get over it once the view distracts you and you have all of that money left to spend on other fun things.

Take advantage of the 360 degree view at Ce La Vi. Be sure to get up and walk around the entire space—you can see Singapore for miles in every direction. Note that they charge $20-ish for you to go up to Ce La Vi, but you then get to use that money towards drinks.

Supertree Grove at Gardens by the Bay

A trip to Singapore wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the unique and fascinating Supertree Grove at Gardens by the Bay. There are 12 Supertrees standing in the Supertree Grove and the tallest tree measures 16 stories high.

During the day the canopy trees shade visitors and at night they come to life with an elaborate show of lights. Each of the Supertrees serves as a vertical garden, which had me in awe when I finally saw them up close in real life.

Aerial walkways connect the treetops so you can visit the top and view of the gardens from above. The Supertree Grove section of Gardens by the Bay is free to visit, but there is a fee if you want to visit the top and walk the aerial walkways.

It’s hard to find a bad spot to snap a shot of the Supertree Grove. Personally I love taking photos from some of the elevated platform areas that you come across before you make your way down to the Supertrees.

The line for the aerial walkway gets really long so I chose to take photos from other (free) spots I found surrounding the trees. Keep an eye out for viewpoints as you enter and make your way to the trees—you won’t miss them.

Cloud Forest at Gardens by the Bay

Another Singapore photo spot and incredible creation is the Cloud Forest at Gardens by the Bay. A massive glass dome covers the Cloud Forest and houses a vast variety of tropical plant life.

The world’s tallest indoor waterfall lives inside of the dome. In here humidity ranges from 80%-90% and the temperatures range from 73-77 degrees fahrenheit.The glass dome the protects the Cloud Forest is quite a fascinating feat in itself.

The dome itself is made up of over 2,500 different pieces of glass, which range in over 690 different shapes. Note that the Cloud Forest does not stay open as late as the free area at the Supertree Groves. At the time that I visited, the Cloud Forest latest entry was 8:30 p.m. and closed at 9:00 p.m.

Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade

I’ve shared a handful of Instagram-worthy Marina Bay views from above. We cannot ignore the fact that Marina Bay is just as beautiful and photo-worthy from the ground level.

If you plan to visit the ArtScience Museum or Marina Bay Sands, you will pass the Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade on your way. The waterfront area hosts a number of events and activities so it’s happen’ spot. In just one day I witnessed a nighttime concert on the promenade, as well as a 5k race that took place along the water.

The Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade makes for a great Singapore photo spot both during the day and at night. It’s nice because it’s such a big, wide area so you don’t have to worry about pushing and shoving past people to get a cool shot of the bay. This is also excellent people-watching territory, if that type of setting tends to intrigue you.

Buddha Tooth Relic Temple & Museum

The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple & Museum is a popular attraction in Chinatown and one of the Instagram-worthy places in Singapore. You might assume that this sight is old and historical (I know I did) but it was actually built in 2007.

The story behind the name is that this temple is home to what is supposedly the recovered canine tooth of the Buddha. Whatever the story is, the temple is stunning and a must-see when you are exploring Singapore’s Chinatown.

The exterior of the temple is grand and bold in color, it cannot be missed. The interior is ornate and full of so much color and detail. It was very lively when I visited with a large crowd inside worshipping, which was a really neat experience to observe.

Note that you must adhere to a dress code to enter the temple. If you are wearing a tank top on you can borrow a shawl upon entry to cover your shoulders.

Streets of Chinatown

Like pretty much every other Chinatown in the world, Singapore’s Chinatown is full of bright color and traditional architecture. Of all the Chinatowns I have visited around the world, I think this one is by far my favorite.

Everything is so colorful and pretty, it almost seemed too perfect at times. The entire Chinatown vicinity is also impressively clean.Singapore’s Chinatown is home to exotic market items, tasty restaurants, souvenir shops, and stores selling items from around the world.

Wandering the streets of Chinatown you are sure to find plenty of instagram-worthy places along with many tempting things to eat. Visit the area to take photos but be sure to show up hungry and experience many of the things you must eat while in Singapore.

There isn’t a specific spot that I want to recommend in Chinatown because so much of it is beautiful. If you in the direction behind the Buddhist Tooth Relic Temple you will land a good starting point to wander. Chinatown is fairly small, so you will likely walk the entirety of it and end back in the same spots.

I included Chinatown as a whole in this photo guide because I’ve spoke to travelers who completely skip Chinatown while visiting Singapore. I highly recommend including a couple of hours in Chinatown as part of your Singapore travel itinerary. It’s pretty, full of culture, and home to a hawker centre full of some of the city’s best dishes.

Singapore is very photogenic, but it is also a foodie paradise! Make sure take time to experience the food scene here as well. If you want to taste the best of Chinatown a food tour is essential. This Chinatown food tour is the exact tour that I went on when I was in Singapore. It’s amazing!

Little India

Little India is one of the main ethnic areas of Singapore. The streets are full of bright, bold color and the aroma of delicious Indian dishes fills the neighborhood. This is a great area to hit up when you are hungry.

Little India offers restaurants and dishes from the many different regions of India. The food from around the country is so diverse, containing many things I’ve never even seen or heard of.

In addition to all of the tasty food lining the streets, be sure to check out the shopping scene. Mustafa Centre is a 24-hour shopping mall that sells just about anything a person could need at a strange hour of the night. Little India is home to a few major festivals throughout the year that are a must-visit if you happen to be in the city. Be sure to look up festival dates before your trip.

Little India is another area full of delicious food and so much history to learn. This neighborhood is another area where I’d recommend joining a guide tour with a local. Check out this Little India Guided Walking Tour to make the most of your time here.

Central Perk Cafe

So this one might be nerdy to most people and if you feel that way then please feel free to move along to the next item. But for me and the friend I was traveling with, we just couldn’t visit Singapore without making a quick stop at Central Perk Cafe. This is a replica of the cafe on the TV series, Friends.

Here you can order silly menu items that are inspired by the shows characters and events from certain episodes. It’s all pretty nerdy but fun. So if you are a fan of the show then why not pop in and check it out? You can think back on all of the good years of the sitcom, back when sitcoms were still awesome.

Here you can pose in Monica’s kitchen from her apartment. You can also check out the setting where the gang used to hang out in at Central Perk cafe. I can’t believe I’m actually writing this right now. I’m literally laughing as I type, but yeah I don’t care. It was a cool, goofy place to see.

Cactus Garden at Singapore Changi Airport

Singapore really goes all out in everything they do. One of the first things I noticed when I entered Singapore by cab was how well-manicured the city was. I later learned that this is not limited to the city itself.

Even Singapore’s Changi Airport takes great pride in its gardens and has an amazing onsite cactus garden for travelers to enjoy. The Changi Airport Cactus Garden is located in Terminal 1 on the roof.

There are over 100 species of cacti and plants in the rooftop garden, which come from all over the world. Also, there is a bar within the outdoor cactus garden if you want to hang out and enjoy a drink in this unique airport setting.

I mean, seriously? How often do you see something like this at an airport? Airports can be the worst. But having a cool, photogenic cactus garden to wander through to pass the time is exceptionally awesome. Take a stroll and you’ll be sure to find a spot that makes for the perfect cactus-themed Instagram photo backdrop.

Kinetic Rain at Singapore Changi Airport

This spot is a bit different compared to all of the others on the list, but I was so impressed by it. The Kinetic Rain sculpture is located in Singapore Changi Airport in Terminal 1 right when you walk in the door.

It’s actually really hard for photos to do this exhibit justice because the movement of it is a huge part of why it’s so awesome. That said, I guess I’m sharing this more for awareness because it’s definitely worth watching, photographing, and recording on video if you are in Terminal 1 at Changi.

According to Changi Airport’s website, Kinetic Rain is the biggest and most complex sculpture like this in the world. Watching it in action will immediately calm you, as the movement of it is so smooth, seamless, and oddly satisfying. The entire sculpture is made of 1,216 bronze droplets.

Before you even work on getting the perfect shot or video, just stand back and observe for a few minutes. This creation is fascinating and I was totally nerding out on it. I was almost late to board my flight because I couldn’t stop watching it.

National Orchid Garden

Singapore’s National Orchid Garden is a must-see for any nature-loving traveler. The lush green landscape is home to over 1,000 species and 2,00 hybrids. This results in over 60,000 orchid plants in the garden.

For a small entry fee the National Orchid Garden is clearly one of the best photo spots in Singapore.The National Orchid Garden sits within the Singapore Botanic Garden.

Orchids have historically been a part of the Singapore Botanic Garden but it was not until 1995 that the National Orchid Garden opened giving these beautiful flowers a place of their own. With so many different colors and varieties it’s one of the most exotic orchid collections in the world.

It’s hard to find a spot in the National Orchid Garden that isn’t beautiful enough to be considered Instagram-worthy. I’m personally drawn to the walkways that are surrounded by lush greenery and flowers and then topped off with overhead arches that surround you in natural beauty.

Instagram-Worthy Hotels in Singapore

Aria Roof Bar at The Scarlet Singapore

Aria rooftop restaurant space feels like a secret hideaway in the middle of a bustling, busy city. I spent two nights at The Scarlet Singapore and was so happy to discover the stylish rooftop restaurant and lounge.

Not only are the food and drinks delicious, but the views surrounding the space are stellar. I sat at the bar in the evening to enjoy a few appetizers and drinks and I didn’t want to leave. The food at Aria is a Sicilian-inspired menu, which was also a nice change after two weeks of happily binging on traditional Asian food.

If you are looking for a romantic hotel or date setting in Singapore, this Instagram-worthy rooftop restaurant is a great option. I was there solo, which worked too, but I’d definitely recommend this as a date spot. Here you can check pricing and availability at The Scarlet Singapore.

The rooftop space is L-shaped, offering views in different directions of the city. I wandered around the restaurant exploring the different angles of the city, which is especially stunning at night. I definitely recommend checking out this spot when it’s dark out because the city lights surrounding the venue is nothing short of magical.

Pool at Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong

I cannot say enough how much I love Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong. I know that most people come to Singapore with plans to, or maybe just dreams of, swimming in the pool at Marina Bay Sands. Everyone wants to have that picture perfect selfie of themselves hanging out at the world’s most famous infinity pool while overlooking the entire city of Singapore—but it’s really, really expensive.

But have no fear, there are other really amazing pools in Singapore that are just as Instagrammable for a much smaller price tag. The infinity pool at Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong is one of them.

I stayed one night at Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong because I wanted to experience the neighborhood. And, I won’t lie, I really wanted to swim in the pool. Being much more affordable than Marina Bay Sands, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to experience the rooftop pool scene in Singapore. Infinity pools are clearly a thing in Singapore. If you’re hoping to get the perfect Instagram shot of yourself in the infinity pool overlooking the city, I suggest heading to the pool first thing in the morning. This will give you the best odds of having the pool to yourself. It’s so warm and humid in Singapore you can swim anytime of day or night and not be cold, so weather is not a concern.

Guest Room at Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong

Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong makes the list twice for having multiple amazing photo spots in Singapore. I partly wanted to spend a night at this property to swim in the infinity pool. The other part of me wanted to stay here because I fell completely in love with the guest room.

When I was planning my trip and saw a photo of this room, I knew I needed to stay here at least one night. The entire property’s design is inspired by the local Peranakan culture and history. The hotel is full of beautiful tile-inspired designed, hand-painted wall art, vibrant textiles and linens, and colorful photography from the local area.

The design is meaningful since it has a story but is also modern, sleek, clean, artistic, and hip. It’s so many things at once but is so well done. I truly mean it when I say this is one of the most beautifully designed hotels I’ve ever stayed in. It aligns perfectly with my personal style and taste. I booked the King Premiere View Room with bath, in case you ever want to book this beauty for yourself. It’s hard to find a portion of this room that isn’t Instagram-worthy. Between the wall art, the turquoise tiles, and of course the beautiful tub with floor-to-ceiling window views over Singapore, the aesthetic is so hot.

Raffles Hotel

The beautiful, classic Raffles Hotel has such a deep history and story. The colonial-style luxury property has been around since the late 1800s. This hotel’s interior and exterior are both a stunning sight.

The Raffles Hotel is also famous for supposedly being the birthplace of the Singapore Sling. The gin-based cocktail was created in 1915 at the hotel, according to the Raffles Hotel. The Singapore Sling is now regarded as being the national drink of Singapore.

The cocktail consists of primarily pineapple juice and grenadine, giving it a pink color. The story is that women were not allowed to drink in public at the time. Therefore this cocktail was created for them since it looks like it’s just juice, allowing women to secretly consume alcohol.

I know that this story has basically nothing to do with Raffles Hotel being a photo spot, but I thought it was a fascinating history and it actually made me want to go here even more. Here you can check pricing and availability at the Raffles Hotel.

You’ll definitely want to snap a shot of you drinking a famous Singapore Sling. But beware—the cocktail runs $20+. If that deters you, still take advantage of the photo opportunities in and around the hotel property. The exterior is lovely.

Pool at The Quincy Hotel

I found one more awesome pool that also makes for a great photo spot in Singapore. Two of my nights in Singapore were spent at The Quincy Hotel in the Orchard District. The property is in a convenient area near Orchard Road. The Quincy Hotel is a sleek, contemporary boutique hotel run by Far East Hospitality.

The property itself is stylish, the rooms are super nice, but the pool takes the cake. This is another option that is more budget-friendly than Marina Bay Sands. The LED-illuminated infinity pool gives you an instagram-worthy view of the surrounding city.

The Quincy Hotel was actually my first stop in Singapore. After settling in my room, I immediately put my swimsuit on and went to the pool for a 10 a.m. swim. It was raining off and on that morning but the pool here offers overhead coverage so you can still enjoy it despite bad weather. Here you can check pricing and availability at the Quincy Hotel.

Again, going to the pool in the morning means you might end up with it all to yourself. I really liked how the pool is on a corner so there are views on two sides. There are plenty of lounge chairs and side tables lining the pool that can be used to set up a camera and get a shot of yourself swimming.
